Access your Course

To access your courses go to wvu.geniussis.com and sign in using the SSO option (WVU learners) or the username and password you created before registering (non-WVU learners).

Once you have completed the registration process*, your course will be listed in the Active Courses section of your learner dashboard. Click on your course title to enter the WVU learning management system.

* Select courses may have pre-requisites that need to be met, submitted and approved before your class will show up in the Active Course section.

Claim YOUR MICROCREDENTIAL

Upon completion of your course, you will be awarded a WVU microcredential. Depending on the course, you will receive a certificate, a digital badge or both! The digital badges are sent to your email, while certificates are available in your Learner Dashboard at wvu.geniussis.com.

If your course presents you with a digital badge, you can accept, store and share your awarded microcredential in Canvas Badges. These badges store data about the skillsets and microcredential requirements you’ve earned, which can be particularly useful for current or potential employers, supervisors or other entities who may want to verify your accomplishments.

If your course awards a certificate, you may access it by hovering over the course title once it has moved to the Completed Courses panel of your dashboard.

SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Once awarded a WVU microcredential, you’ve not only gained knowledge and a greater sense of understanding in an area that matters to you, but you can show off your accomplishments, new skills and learned experiences in a variety of ways.

Showcase Your WVU Microcredential

To share your WVU microcredential follow the instructions on this Canvas Badges guide. You will access your microcredentials by signing into your account at badgr.com. Here are some ways you may want to distribute your digital badge:

  • Share it on LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
  • Add it to a resume/CV.
  • Submit it in annual performance review files to supervisors.
  • Send it in emails.
  • Display it in your email signature.
  • Embed it on websites.
