Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist Registration for Students

Before you begin

  • Mountaineer Micro Academy courses are hosted in a separate non-credit system and do not use WVU Login credentials.
  • To ensure continued access to your account after graduation or employment changes, you must register using a personal (non-WVU) email address. Do not use your MIX email or attempt to log in with your WVU credentials.

Account Creation and Registration Steps

  1. Browse the Course Catalog

    • Visit the course catalog and locate the course you would like to enroll in.

  2. Add the Course to Your Cart

    1. Select View Offerings for the desired course.
    2. Click Add to Cart.
    3. Select View Cart.

  3. Create Your Account/Returning Users Sign In

    • New Users
      • Complete the account creation form by entering:
        • First Name
        • Last Name
        • Personal (non-WVU) email address
        • Phone Number
      • Click Submit to create your account.
         
    • Returning Users
      • Click the Returning Users link at the top of the Registration Page
      • Enter you Login/Username (your email address) and the password you created during your initial registration
        • If you forget your password use the Recover Your Password link below the Sign In button.
      • Skip to Step 5

  4. Activate Your Account

    1. Check the personal email account you used during registration.
    2. Open the account activation email.
    3. Follow the instructions provided to log in to your new account and change temporary password.
      • Note: you Login/Username is your email address
      • Your new password needs to be 12-20 characters and contain at least 1 upper case letter, 1 lower case letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.

  5. Complete Your Enrollment

    • After logging in, your shopping cart should automatically open.
    • If your cart does not appear:
      1. Select Course Catalog.
      2. Click the Cart icon in the upper-right corner.
      3. Follow the payment and checkout instructions to complete your enrollment.

Accessing Your Courses

After enrollment is complete, your course will be available from your Mountaineer Micro Academy dashboard.

Important: Mountaineer Micro Academy courses do not appear in WVU eCampus and cannot be accessed through the WVU eCampus login page. Always access your course through the Mountaineer Micro Academy Portal (wvu.geniussis.com) using the account credentials you created during registration.
